Plum

Description

The common plum is a small deciduous tree, producing white blossom in spring followed by sweet, juicy fruit in late summer or early autumn. Plums come in an extraordinary range of colours, from green and golden yellow to red, purple and almost black. They can be eaten straight from the tree or used in pies, crumbles, preserves and—inevitably—yet more jam.
